Branding and packaging
for a Chilean Pizzeria.

Research + Creation

While researching Chile for the creation of this project, I was initially drawn to the mountainous region of Cordellera. The mountain range is full of a rich history, including the native Mapuche people.

The name Cordellera combines both cultural and historical value, with a clear path to creating brand imagery.

By finding a library of the Mapuche people’s symbolism, I was able to start vectoring some iconography for the brand. The primary symbol linking all assets together is their chain-like symbol for togetherness and community.

I wanted to begin this branding by creating a badge logo to place on the pizza boxes. This badge includes the city of Puente Alto, located in the Cordellera Mountains, the year of establishment, as well as the chain iconography on top and bottom.

For a secondary logo, I created a simple acronym “CPC.” to use on smaller packaging such as bottle labels and condiments.

As a final touch, I was able to practice some Spanish and copywriting for the packaging. I created 3 condiment examples. From left to right, each bag translates to Hot Honey; The best of both worlds, Pepper Flakes; For a little bit of spice, and Parmesan Cheese; Add a little more.

This branding and packaging project was created with a combination of Illustrator and Photoshop.
